Releasing 29th August 2014 - The Guvnors has received rave reviews at the Edinburgh film festival.... We caught up with Cass Pennant, co-producer of the flick and pinged a few questions at him.
A few weeks back, Mr John Hellier posted us an EP of a band named Penny For The Workhouse. We liked what we heard heard and asked the band if they would play for us down in Carnaby St.Their sound is folk and Indie of sorts or whatever you'd like to throw in to the mix, it is hard to pin PFTW to a category.
We received a message from Julia Krasnikova asking us to check out her band The Zou Bisou via a You Tube link.
We had the privilege of having the Samuel Rogers Band play for us down at Carnaby St. We knew they sounded good from the recordings we had heard, however live they were amazing. If you get the opportunity to see S.R.B make a point of it, their EP has been played non-stop since we got our hands on it.
An emerging local force, the band are described as having a predominantly British feel reminiscent of Primal Scream and early Kasabian.
Laborde won the best new comer in the French version of NME, he then disappeared off the map. By chance we picked-up a post on Facebook from a fan playing one of his tracks. We then tracked him down, found him in Paris and was told that he was not signed, we stept in and done the honours.
